Nvidia’s Head Commends China’s Role in AI Advancement

(MENAFN) During the opening ceremony of the China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing on Wednesday, the head of US tech powerhouse Nvidia, Jensen Huang, praised China’s achievements in artificial intelligence (AI).

He emphasized that China plays a pivotal role in driving worldwide innovation, calling the country's AI efforts a “catalyst” for global progress.

Huang remarked, “China’s open-source AI is a catalyst for global progress, giving every country and industry a chance to join the AI revolution.”

He likened AI to essential systems such as electricity and the internet, describing it as a “fundamental infrastructure.”

According to a recorded video of the event, he elaborated on how AI is revolutionizing diverse fields, including scientific discovery, medicine, energy, transportation, and logistics.

The Nvidia co-founder highlighted that China’s leading technology firms — such as DeepSeek, Alibaba Group Holding, Tencent Holdings, MiniMax, and Baidu — have built “world-class” large language models.

These contributions, he noted, underscore the strength and global relevance of China’s AI landscape.

Recently, Nvidia became the first publicly traded firm to reach a market value of $4 trillion, overtaking both Apple and Microsoft, each of which had previously crossed the $3-trillion threshold.

Based in California and established in 1993, Nvidia initially surpassed the $2-trillion valuation in February 2024, and then exceeded $3 trillion in June, marking its ascent as the most valuable company globally.
