Blistering Heatwave Set to Grip Greece
As detailed by media, weather models indicate that temperatures could soar to a blistering 43°C (109°F) between Sunday, July 20, and Tuesday, July 22—with the heat possibly lingering into Wednesday.
Meteorologist Giorgos Tsatrafilia noted that, in the lead-up to the heatwave’s peak, parts of the country may already see temperatures reach 39–40°C (102–104°F).
He cautioned that certain groups, especially people living in densely built urban zones with inadequate airflow and limited access to cooling, could face significant strain during the heat’s most intense period.
