Media Advisory: U.S. 75 project ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, Oct. 12, at 4 p.m. in Sioux Center

SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – Oct. 5, 2026 - The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) and City of Sioux Center invite members of the media to a U.S. 75 project ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, Oct. 12, at 4 p.m. in Sioux Center.

A total of 2.5 miles of U.S. 75 through the heart of Sioux Center have been rebuilt as an enhanced four-lane roadway, featuring two lanes of travel in each direction with medians and a center turn lane, plus sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, storm sewer, and streetscape. The multi-year reconstruction began in 2023, replacing the aging roadway and rebuilding it in a design based on safety, improving roadway function, and showcasing community character. The project also included significant utility improvements by the City of Sioux Center. 

When: Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, at 4 p.m.

Where: Central Park, 502 N. Main Ave., Sioux Center, IA 51250

Program will be held at 4 p.m. in the park followed by a brief ribbon cutting on U.S. 75 along Central Park. Local refreshments will be served in the park from 4-5:30 p.m.

Rain location: Fire Station 1, 408 N. Main Ave, Sioux Center, Iowa 51250

Media parking: Perspective Insurance, 517 N. Main Ave., Sioux Center, or Netherlands Reformed, 435 N. Main Ave., Sioux Center.

Who: Representatives from the Iowa DOT, city officials, and project partners will be in attendance, as well as businesses and residents along the project, and the community at large.
